YouTube Culture | A Viewer's Point of View

As some of you know I have a fan account on Twitter for many Youtubers. Also some of you may know that some Youtubers have posted some videos of how they feel about the Youtube Culture and how its came to be now. I haven't seen many blogposts on the viewer's side of things. Although, I have seen a few videos about it. I have also seen a few videos done from people on twitter who have made amazing points in their videos. (You can watch them here and here)

**SORRY IF YOU ARE OFFENDED**

I am writing this blogpost because this is an easy way for me to express my opinion on this topic. Over the last couple of years the Youtube fandom has definitely increased. This is not a bad thing by any means, but I think this is why some of the Youtubers feel overwhelmed. I think they feel this way about this because they didn't expect to be as big as they are now.

Yes, some of us idolize Youtubers and we look up to them, but I think that our definition of 'idolize' and their definition of 'idolize' is quite different. We idolize people for all different reasons. Someone may idolize a person because of the good things they do for others, or that person could have helped them in ways that others couldn't. We all have our reasons, but at the end of the day we look up to them because of the kind of person they are.

I personally don't see Youtubers as celebrities. Yes, they are very well known people and they have fanbases and ship names and all things like any celebrity would have. But they're very different from celebrities in my opinion. Youtubers choose to share parts of their life with the whole world. They document their lives and their memories with other people. When they first started out, they posted their lives with random strangers, and with Youtube have made lifelong friends because of posting that one video. Now they choose to do this every week (and some everyday) and I am really grateful for that because they don't have to. They do it for us and thats what makes it special. You don't get this stuff with Hollywood celebrities.

I just hope that someday Youtubers will realize that we aren't crazy fangirls who would chase them into dark alleys just to take a picture. Yes I still idolize Youtubers and will continue to do that. I am just really grateful for everything they have done for us, and I am so proud of how successful they have become. I hope they will continue to do bigger and greater things.

WOW. I am really sorry if you got really bored of my rambling. I am sorry if this offended any of you in any way. I was just writing out my feelings. But anyway, I hope some of you enjoyed anyway, and if anyone wants to write their opinions in the comments feel free :). I hope you're all having an amazing day and I will talk to you in my next blogpost! :)

Xoxo ~ Kate
